Paul Imrie

Editorial

Head of content

Having yearned to be a reporter since he was 11, Paul left school after A-levels to land a dream job as a junior reporter on his Leicestershire home-town’s weekly newspaper, the Coalville and Ashby Times. Headhunted to join both the Derby Evening Telegraph – where he achieved the Diploma in Journalism from the Editorial Centre in Hastings – and Leicester Mercury, and amassing a wealth of experience in his more than 10 years in regional journalism, Paul was approached to join VBD in 2004.

Role at VBD

Paul has been editor of VBJ, and both deputy editor and editor of Veterinary Times, before becoming VBD’s editorial manager in 2010. A highlight was guiding Veterinary Times to the PPA Independent Publisher Awards Business Publication of the Year title in 2017.

As clinical content team manager and editor (features/digital) for Veterinary Times, he is responsible for non-news content commissioning and presentation. Paul compiles feature lists for Veterinary Times and its supplements, and should be your first port of call if you want to pair your marketing campaigns with valuable and insightful specially commissioned content from some of the profession’s most eminent veterinary authors. He is also the voice behind the Vet Times Podcast.
