About Lucy

Lucy joined the accounting world straight from school as a junior in a chartered accountants. From there, she moved to Chubb Alarms for two years as a purchase ledger controller, followed by seven years at Cornhill Insurance working in the marine reinsurance department.

After moving to Peterborough in 1989, Lucy worked at APV Baker until 1992 before taking maternity leave, followed by working from home for a local accountant. Her various career moves over the years have given her a broad knowledge of double entry accounting, VAT and payroll.

Role at VBD

Lucy has been part of the VBD accounts team for 15 years. Her role focuses on the day-to-day accounting processes, raising and processing invoices for sales and contributors, matching of purchase orders, paying suppliers, posting and reconciling four bank accounts, and maintaining a high level of credit control.

One of Lucy’s major projects was implementing a purchase order system throughout the company.

In her facilities role, she is always happy to lend a hand where needed to keep the office running smoothly – from sourcing the best price for printers to changing the office alarm system.
