Ian has 16 years’ experience in the advertising and marketing industry across both B2B and B2C sectors, working with some of the largest advertisers in the world to help plan, strategize and create advertising campaigns. With 5 years working in the pet trade media at Bauer (Formally Emap) and the following 11 years working in the veterinary media for VBD, he has held titles such as account director, sales manager and his current role as brand services manager.
Having gained a BA(Hons) Drama, Media and Popular Culture degree from the University of Northampton in 2004, Ian certainly has a creative brain and the ability to think about creative integrated campaigns that are outside of the box. He continued his education throughout his career, gaining a Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate in 2011 and a digital marketing qualification with Google Squared in 2015. Ian’s strongest skill is the ability to forge relationships with people, spot opportunities, and action and execute media plans. Ian has an interest in advertising as a whole, but is particularly interested in sensory branding and reactive marketing.
His passion for advertising and marketing has recently led to him joining the Veterinary Marketing Association committee, where he is working on its communications and promotional strategy, as well as implementation.
At some stage, across the past 11 years, you will likely have worked with Ian, and will be aware that he offers a high level of professionalism while remaining a friendly and trustworthy contact. He has a wealth of knowledge in the advertising and marketing industries, and has led some top level projects that have received awards at various different awards.
Outside of work, Ian has a passion for rugby, walking, music and travel. Rugby is one of his first loves and he has been a Northampton Saints season ticket holder for 12 years, but has been going regularly for 27 years now. He also frequents Twickenham a few times a year. Ian is always interested in a challenge, and this year has taken part in the Rat Race – a 13-mile 150 obstacles course run, as well as the 10k Insane Terrain.

Role at VBD
Ian’s role oversees the strategy of the brand advertising team, managing client relationships, involvement in launches and developing new ideas. He has a good understanding of media across, print, digital, content, social media, audio and video, so whatever your needs, he will be able to discuss these with you.
Biggest achievements at VBD
Over the years, Ian has been involved in a number of product launches – from inception, through research to delivery. His biggest achievement internally has been being the commercial lead on www.vettimes.co.uk, ensuring this offered the chance for customers to work on much more creative digital campaigns than had previously been possible.
